We have available positions for Volunteers from all around the world and welcome them to our program.

We have ongoing fund raising activities and are currently accepting donations from all sources. All are invited to help make a difference here in Ghana. Ghanaians are hard working people and would like to learn more so that they can come out of poverty. Our programs are geared towards a successful skill acquired and we have the tools to do so. Join us in this cause and enhance your own experience in a Ghanaian society while giving back to society. Ghana is the most stable country in west Africa and a model African country to achieve the middle income status by 2010 according to the World Bank.

Our facility and infrastructure is already built by the Executives' own hard earned savings in order to launch this NGO project to give back to society and help alleviate poverty by providing not only a skill but employment to all. Your contribution in all aspects of our Capacity Building programs is welcomed.

Liebe Verwandte, Freunde und Bekannte.

Im Zuge unserer Hilfsorgarnisation, deren Vorstand ich bin, haben wir ein Project aufgegriffen das die Unterstuetzung einer kleinen Dorfschule beinhaltet. Diese Schule “ LAKESIDE HILL SCHOOL” hat ca. 45 Schueler und unterrichtet im Montessori Stil. Sie wurde als unterstuetzungswuerdiges Beispiel von unserer Foundation geprueft und akzeptiert.

Vor kurzem habe ich mit der Leiterin, Frau Monika, ueber kleine Veraenderungen, wie zB. neue Sessel und Tische, Regale fuer die Buecher, Farbe zum ausmalen, Sport Equipment und auch einer Schulglocke gesprochen. Um diese Schulglocke handel es sich nun. Diese ist wichtig um alle Schueler und Lehrer zu einer Einheit zu bringen. Immer wieder geschieht es dass der Schulablauf verzoegert wird, weil jede Klasse nach einer anderen Zeit beginnt oder schliesst. Es waere viel einfacher mit einem gemeinsamen Signal dieses Problem zu loesen.

Die Richards Foundation hat sich dieser Sache angenommen und bittet um Eure finanzielle Mithilfe. Mit einer kleinen Spende von 5,-- bis 10,-- Euro, oder auch mehr oder weniger, koennten wir dieser Schule behilflich sein, diese Schulglocke zu finanzieren.
Es handelt sich um eine manuelle, an der Wand befestigten Ziehglocke aus Metall. Vorzustellen wie in den alten Schultagen der kollonial Zeit. Bitte unterztuetzt uns bei diesem Vorhaben, so dass wir bald den Klang dieser Glocke hoeren koennen.

If you want a certain fabric but you need more yards as we have made, we certainly can produce more of this fabric for you. I need to point out, that all fabrics are unique and copies differ sometimes more somtimes less from the original. The best result to reach an even quality in big quantity, is to order the fabrics you want, at the same time as the have tied and dyed.

We're looking for Volunteers in all fields and ages from 18 - 65

Requirements and offers:

- English fluently or conversational is o.k
- We need you for 2-6 months or even longer.....
- You must be healthy and can take the heat weather wise
- You must have all vaccination for Ghana
- You need to pay a onetime registration fee before arriving to make sure your place is reserved for you.
- You will need a pocket money off approx. GHc 15,--/day ( for transportation enjoyment etc.)
- Married couple will get a discount
- Shuttle from and to the airport provided
- You will work with children, teenagers and young adults
- Or choose directly after arriving in Ghana from our available offers where you would like to work.

	Hi this is me, Dorothy. I'm from Ulm (Southern Germany). I visited Richards Foundation in August 2008. And in my opinion it was a too short time that I spent there. IT IS definitely worth visiting. A very lovely place.	This is me playing football with Benjamin (Helen's son) at the Richards Foundation. I hope I can return back as soon as possible. Helen cared a lot for me. Thanx. And by the way, me as a non-fish-eating-person I loved the wonderful Tilapia ;-)

Projects

Overview

Capacity building: In this program we help all people with skills for the future and petty traders on how to manage their books and maximize their profits.

Continuous Educations: We offer summer classes, after school programs, early childhood education, etc. where children, and teens are welcome.
We teach in our training institute everybody who is interested to learn from our variety of professions. Like Tie&Dye, Batik, Screen Printing, Sewing, Arts & Crafts, etc. etc.
In our ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB people are trained and teached how to make a positive impact in there community.
We are still looking for Teachers to volunteer.

Soup kitchen for the needy: This program is under construction. We need more donations to buy disposable plates, spoons, pots, chairs and tables and of course the ingredients for the soup. We plan to serve at least one free meal a day to about 100 people from the neighborhood. This would require a budget of about Euro 90,--/meal/100people. Please help feed the poor and the street children. Any amount that you would like to donate is welcomed and appreciated.....

Airport shuttle:
Upon arrival, our volunteer coordinator and staff member will be at the Airport to pick you up. Please don't forget to provide your flight informations like flight number, airline, date and time of arrival. We will welcome you with a big sign of our NGO.

Money transfer:
In case you recognize you are not liquid enough, we can offer you an affordable money transfer from Europe and America.

Communication:
Our house has Internet. You can also call home to very affordable rates.....
We speak English and German....

Supervision and Health:
We call you once a week to our headquarter to find solutions in case of difficulties. At this meetings you will also meet your colleges and socialize with them. New volunteers and new informations are introduced at this meetings. We help you also in case of any medical issue to find assistance.

Enjoyment:
We provide Field trips for you ( rates are from Euro 30,-- to Euro 120,--). Choose and enjoy the countryside with Bonfire, Barbecue, Photo Safari and much more.......

Why do we need Volunteers?

This is Mrs. Helen Richards. She is one of the three directors of RICHARDS FOUNDATION and as Volunteer Coordinator she takes good care of our Volunteers.

Originaly from Austria/Vienna and with living experience on three continents she is able to manage all your concerns and little problems so that your stay will be for you an unforgettable great vacation.

Volunteers are very important to us because without YOU we are unable to serve the community.
Ghana has a population of about 22,000.000 (estimated) people. The Country is bit smaller than Germany and the infrastructure is still developing at a faster pace. There has been big improvements over the last 10 years but still in sectors like children education, medical support, life style, and also farming we have still a lot to do.

So you see..... we need your physical strength and also your trained skills to give our projects the right boost.
