Why do we need Volunteers?

This is Mrs. Helen Richards. She is one of the three directors of RICHARDS FOUNDATION and as Volunteer Coordinator she takes good care of our Volunteers.

Originaly from Austria/Vienna and with living experience on three continents she is able to manage all your concerns and little problems so that your stay will be for you an unforgettable great vacation.

Volunteers are very important to us because without YOU we are unable to serve the community.
Ghana has a population of about 22,000.000 (estimated) people. The Country is bit smaller than Germany and the infrastructure is still developing at a faster pace. There has been big improvements over the last 10 years but still in sectors like children education, medical support, life style, and also farming we have still a lot to do.

So you see..... we need your physical strength and also your trained skills to give our projects the right boost.

Program 1

Position: VOLUNTEER ( 3 to 4 openings )
at: Royal Good Shepard Hospital
Period of : 1-2month also looking for people up to 1 year
Location: Weija - SCC ( near Accra )
Timetable: day shifts
Transport: Walking distance or Taxi 0,60 cedis/day
Payment: None
Accommodation: at the Richards foundation
Jobdescription: 1. Helper or Assistance for all kind of jobs aside the nurses.
2. Qualified Midwifes
3. Qualified Doctors











Program 4

Position: VOLUNTEER ( 1 opening )
at: Richards Foundation
Period of : minimum of 6 month ......going.....
Location: Weija-Gicel/SCC ( near Accra )
Timetable: 4:00pm - 20:30pm / Monday to Friday
Transport: None
Payment: Allowance of 30,-- cedis/month
Accommodation: at the Richards foundation Headquarter
Jobdescription: Babysitting of 3 to 5 Children. Age 3 to 11 years. 3 Girls 2 boys.
Easy house hold jobs like cleaning the dishes and sweeping the
floor. After School do play-activities, serve dinner, help them with homework,
taking bath and bring them to bed and read them a story. Simple.....
help the mother with the kids. ;)

Program 5

Position: VOLUNTEER ( 5 openings )
at: Richards Foundation/ Water conservation program
Period of : minimum of 1 month ......going.....
Location: whole Ghana
Timetable: 20-30 Hours / Week
Transport: None
Payment: None
Accommodation: Depending where the job is taking you. Arrangements made by Richards Foundation.
Jobdescription: Interested people should have knowledge about water conservation,
domestic plumbing or should be a domestic plumber.




Program 6

Position: VOLUNTEER ( 10 openings )
at: Modern Farming Association
Period of : minimum of 1 month ......going.....
Location: Weija & Bortiano ( near Accra )
Timetable: negotiable
Transport: None
Payment: None
Accommodation: at the Richards Foundation Headquarter
Jobdescription: The Modern Farming Association teaches the farmers how to grow and harvest around the Year with modern ways of farming.
For this program we are looking for people who are trained farmers or people who have experience in farming.




Program 7

Position: VOLUNTEER ( 1 - 2 openings )
at: AKUABA Ltd.
Period of : minimum of 3 month ......going.....
Location: Dzowulu - Accra
Timetable: wished 7:30 - 17:00 Monday to Friday but negotiable
Transport: None
Payment: Negotiable
Accommodation: At the Richards Foundation Headquarter.
Jobdescription: AKUABA is one of the oldest high quality Furniture Factories in Accra. This Factory has all the equipment to teach the youth, but the teachers are not available anymore. We are looking for best trained Carpenters who want to pass the missing knowledge on to the next generation. Please contact us for further information.

Position: VOLUNTEER ( 2 openings )
at: INK IT
Period of : minimum of 2 month ......going.....
Location: New Town - Accra
Timetable: negotiable
Transport: None
Payment: None
Accommodation: Provided by INK IT
Jobdescription: Ink It print on everything you can imaging. This firm offers Graphic designers and tech students to come and show the newest ways of sign -, T-shirt-, screen-, billboard-, signboard printing etc. The company work's with the latest equipment and is ready to take you in. They can give you even a certificate in case you need a proof of internship.


Program 9

Position: VOLUNTEER ( any two in any discipline)
at: Finney Hospital
Period of : minimum of 4 month ......going.....
Location: New Bortianor
Timetable: Three times per week - Mon,Wed, Fri Time: 8:30 am - 3:00pm
Transport: None
Payment: depending on qualification negotiable
Accommodation: Provided by Richards Foundation
Jobdescription: Mainly in the areas of health care volunteer, Nurses, Midwives, Dental Technicians, Front desk Receptionist & Laboratory & Pharmacy Technicians or any health oriented volunteer.

Position: VOLUNTEER
at: Lakeside Hill School
Period of : minimum of 4 month ......going.....
Location: Weija / Accra
Timetable: Mon - Fri 8:00am to 3:00pm

Accommodation: Provided by Richards Foundation
Jobdescription: We teach the Montessori curriculum.Be a part of our team, Help the students by Reading, Math, Grammar, Speaking Skills, Phonetics, Number Work, Measurement and Time, Geometry, General Science, Health and Safety, Religious and Moral Education, Social Studies, Creativity and Art, Music, Dance and Poetry. Our students are little Kids from age 2 to 9.
